The versatile Blofeld synthesizer is now available in a specially optimized version for your iPad – including plugin support for mobile DAWs.
With the app, you can even control your Blofeld hardware synth and seamlessly continue using your existing sound sets. The sound engine is based on the proven Blofeld architecture and delivers the signature, powerful Waldorf sound – known from classics like the Q, Microwave, and the legendary Wave.
At its core: an expressive wavetable synthesis inspired by the iconic PPG synthesizers of the ’80s. Whether edgy, bell-like, or punchy – this sound is instantly recognizable and has made music history.
Presets
The Blofeld plugin for iPad features a powerful preset browser with a streamlined database structure, offering intuitive sorting and filtering options designed for touch navigation.
Multi
The iPad version of the plugin comes equipped with a flexible 16-part multimode. Each part can be assigned its own MIDI channel, velocity, and keyboard zone, allowing you to build rich, layered sounds with ease.
Synth
The Synth section gives you direct access to all key sound design tools — including oscillators, wavetables, filters, envelopes, LFOs, and effects.
Matrix
The modulation matrix features 16 freely assignable slots alongside 9 fixed routings. You also get 4 customizable modifiers that apply mathematical operations, adding even more flexibility to your modulation sources.
Arp
The Blofeld’s arpeggiator is one of the most advanced in the Waldorf lineup. Alongside 15 built-in patterns, it includes a detailed pattern editor that lets you create your own variations — making it a truly powerful creative tool.

The sample browser gives you a clear overview of all imported and available wavesets. You can load your own samples, assign them to the oscillators, and define root keys and loop points—just like in Spectre.
