You are asking for the safest way? Ask someone who did this before is the best answer. If you are not into MIDI and sysex sending, the chances are big, that it will not work for the very first time. I read so many posting in other synth forums and on the Waldorf mailing list about this.

I recommend to use the free Waldorf Spectre software:

Download here:

It is not only a application for loading samples into a Waldorf Blofeld. Connect the microQ via an USB to MIDI interface known to work reliable with sysex to you computer. Don't use an USB hub between the computer and the MIDI interface. Connect the MIDI interface output 1 to the MIDI input of the microQ. Start the Spectre software. Click on the "Audio/MIDI ..." button. Select the MIDI interface output 1 as MIDI output. Close the interface dialog. Click the "Update" button and select the update file "mq_2_23.mid" you extracted from the ZIP file you downloaded in the links I posted before. The transmission of the data will start once you selected the file and clicked "Open".

Be sure there is no power interruption or cables getting of while the data is transmitted and the moments while the data is processed by the microQ. Otherwise you will have a new doorstop in the shape of a non working microQ.
