normal Feature Request: Display current value

Hi all,

Not sure if this is the right place to be posting this, but here goes...

When you click the buttons on the Pulse 2 it resets the screen to the current patch name. What would be better would be if it could display the current value for the current row and column in the edit matrix. For example:

  • Press the "Osc 1" button (ROW 1, COLUMN 1 in the edit matrix)
  • Adjust the "Shape" (COLUMN 1 in the edit matrix)
  • If I now press any ROW button the display should change to display what's in COLUMN 1 of that ROW - for example if I now press the Osc button again (ROW 1 in the editing grid), Pulse 2 will change to editing "Osc 2" so I'd like the screen to display the current value of Osc 2's "shape". Similarly, if I now press Row 5's button (VCF) it should display the current value of the cutoff (as that's in COLUMN 1 on the grid).
  • Now, if I adjust the "Type" value of the VCF (COLUMN 4), pressing any ROW button will show me the current value in any COLUMN 4.

I hope that makes sense. :-)

As it stands at the moment, to actually view any values I have to tweak a rotary encoder to the left and right (to undo my change) - which I have to do even if I don't want to change the value at all, only view it.

Thanks,

Mark.

Top name, mate!
Your idea on how to display data on the Pulse 2 screen is nice and logical. The original didn't quite work in the same way, but it did hold the value of the last edited parameter on it's readout, which as simple as it is, is far more usable for editing.
When I bought my Pulse2 I just assumed it would use the old parameter value display the original worked on, considering the size of the screen and also way the Blofeld uses it's screen. Very weird to completely waste the display real estate on the patch number and name constantly being shown. Could be something to do with processing power, dunno.....

Yes, a previous value that remained there when you edit would be great too, but I'd settle for not having to adjust a parameter in order to see what its current value is set to. :-)
