What is the meaning of CC 91 (FX Type in doc) ?

According documentation this CC allows selecting 0 = Reverb, 1 = Phaser, 2 = Animate
but there is also 
CC 92 FX Animate amount 0...127
CC 93 FX Phaser amount 0…127
CC 94 FX Reverb amount 0…127

and on the Streichfett itself there is only a 3 position switch which allow piloting the target of the level button on its right, so this seems to correspond to CC 92 to 94.
So what is the usage of this FX Type which seems useless ?
