That's around $4118 AUD.... Australian retail will round up to 4.5k...
I'm extremely excited about his. Waldorf are one of my favorite. Have been waiting for something big from Waldorf for ages now. Have always wanted a microwave xt. Think this could hit the spot nicely. I'll have to wait till around NAMM 2018 before I can commit.
I want more news on the quantum so badly... It hurts
Hmm, that's a little more than the last car I bought, but doable, heheh. I paid 3k for my MWXTk in 2000, taking into account inflation, it's about the same for the Quantum. I have a better job now also
From what I have seen and heard, the Quantum is what I was hoping the Blofeld would be; a true successor to the Microwave series. I use my Blofeld all the time, but despite it's abilities I can't pull out of it a Microwave patch. That said I haven't gone to town with my recently acquired SL enhancements.
Waldorf do have a history of incomplete OS's and missing features, like with the Pulse2's FX slot. With that, I was surprised that there was even an FX slot on it to start with, so when it was nonfunctional, although disappointing wasn't a big deal. I explain it to myself as a feature they should have kept as a second-run 'new feature' if they got it to work. I know why the MW2/XT never was fully fixed and it was unfortunate what happened but unavoidable at the time I feel. The electronic instrument landscape was levelled by the explosion of the pc laptop DAW pretty much. Drum machines and samplers are only just starting to come back now. Roland(/Boss) have had both the entire time, yeah. I'm very sick of the Roland drum sound now after 3 of their machines (they don't last long) and the MV-8000 is a slow and lumbering beast when it comes to programming and editing.
I have toyed with the idea of selling/trading the XTk for an XT or MW1 to make space, but it would be easier to buy a triple tier keyboard stand I think. And I love those wooden end-caps.
